* Notes
* Our Service for Sunday, May 24, 2009 was cancelled because the Lilla G. Frederick Pilot Middle School where we normally meet on Sundays was closed due to a suspected flu outbreak. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Please join us next week on Sunday May 31!

Our mission is to develop mature followers of Jesus Christ who love God with everything they've got, genuinely love their neighbors, and who take the lead in expanding God's Kingdom wherever they go. You can find out more about us on our church web site at http://www.lifechurchboston.org/.
V Discussion Questions / Topics (based on the indicated scriptures)
John 7:37-39
On the last and greatest day of the Feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.” By this he meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were later to receive. Up to that time the Spirit had not been given, since Jesus had not yet been glorified.
* What are some of the ways that you "come to Jesus and drink"? How are you making his words a part of you?
* In what ways have you experienced streams of living water as a result of following Jesus?
Acts 1:4-8
In my former book, Theophilus, I wrote about all that Jesus began to do and to teach until the day he was taken up to heaven, after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen. After his suffering, he showed himself to these men and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God. On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.”
So when they met together, they asked him, “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?”
He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
* According to this passage, what is the purpose of the power that Jesus is talking about? Have you received this power?
* Jesus told his disciples that they would be his witnesses starting where they were in Jerusalem and expanding outwards. Have you been a witness recently? Discuss.
