V Key Scripture References

* Proverbs 23:4 Do not wear yourself out to get rich; have the wisdom to show restraint.
* Joel 1:4 what the locust swarm has left
       the great locusts have eaten;
       what the great locusts have left
       the young locusts have eaten;
       what the young locusts have left other locusts have eaten
* Job 5:24 You will know that your tent is secure; you will take stock of your property and find nothing missing.
* Job 42:12 the LORD blessed the latter part of Job's life more than the first. He had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, a thousand yoke of oxen and a thousand donkeys.
* John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
* Joel 2:25 I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten—
       the great locust and the young locust,
       the other locusts and the locust swarm my great army that I sent among you
* Proverbs 22:7 The rich rule over the poor and the borrower is servant to the lender.
V What is the condition of your assets?
V tangible assets
* house, furniture, jewelry, car, clothing
V `intangible assets
* reputation
* relationships with parents, friends, spouse, children, siblings
V Are you living within your means?
* indebtedness is modern day slavery
* are you trying to keep up with the "jones"?
* do you have and stick to a budget?
V Locusts
* key characteristics
* locusts are a type for sin - they move into the destructive phase when the conditions are right and bring havoc and devastation
V Take inventory
* don't let the enemy rob you blind
V The enemy's role is to steal, kill and destroy but God gives life to the full
* some of the most horrendous crimes are senseless and brutal, like a thief in a convenience store who is not content to just steal but kills the cashier. That's what the enemy is like - he has no regard for your life. He wants to steal whatever you've got no matter how small.
V What have the locusts eaten?
* health
* peace of mind
* family
* finances
* joy
* passion
* The latter shall be greater than the first
V How do you get there?
V if you've done wrong repent
* even if the trouble you're in is your fault - he will restore when we repent
V lessons from finances
* put the word into practice
* be a lender not a borrower
* if you mess up don't shrink in fear
* if you're in right standing, keep standing
